Those aren't artificial. As a matter of fact, some words are. But that is not unscientific.

All words are constructed. Etymology is the study of it. I mean, do you think that words fall from the sky or something?

Ceres, Pluto and Eris are planets. Sorry, IAU! Actually, calling them "dwarf planets" just states they indeed are planets (such as the giant planets from Jupiter to Neptune).

Since the IAU are all quilified scientists who know a hell of alot more about planets then random people online I'm inclined to believe them.

Ultima Thule is an asteroid like the Martian moons Deimos and Phobos. Its gravity and thus one's weight must be similar to that of the two moons there, so very little.

It's because women in society are judged solely on appearance, which creates a deep-seated complex among women to view any slight physical imperfection as a flaw of character. This results in a self-conscious desire to hide one's weight from others lest they judge one as inferior. Therefore, it is rude to ask for a woman's weight as doing so is a coded message declaring that you want an excuse to mock her.

The objectively "better" system is the only true one: Imperial units. The totalitarian metric units are an invention, they are artificial and shouldn't be used by science.

If anyone is wondering why the weights are so fucking weird on the gas giants, it's because the "surface" of the planet is so far away from its gravitational center.

If anyone is wondering why "surface" is in quotes, it's because they don't really have one. Which makes the "weight at the surface" measurement sort of arbitrary and made-up.

Gas planets also have solid cores. But on gas planets you use the altitude at which air pressure is 1 atm, or 14.7 psi, the same as on Earth. I never wrote of a "surface" weight or gravity.

Actually we're not clear on the internal composition of gas giants. A sea of superheated metallic hydrogen might be solid in the sense that it's too dense to penetrate, but not a solid in any conventional sense.

Measuring from Earthlike air pressure is fine, but as I said before: arbitrary. And something you're clearly not doing for the objects that lack atmosphere. Or Venus, since that calculation is done from the surface of Venus, and not the high atmosphere where air pressure is 1 atm.
