Weight on celestial bodies

This thread should have had a serious purpose, but has developed into a joking thread and other topics.

This is going to get locked and I'm refusing to participate in a thread that doesn't use metric.

Use metric.

These weights aren't in stones. I suppose it makes sense to use alien units.

Why does Pluto only have 1 asterisk. It should have two.

Just like other non-planets.

If anyone is wondering why the weights are so fucking weird on the gas giants, it's because the "surface" of the planet is so far away from its gravitational center.

If anyone is wondering why "surface" is in quotes, it's because they don't really have one. Which makes the "weight at the surface" measurement sort of arbitrary and made-up.

Ceres, Pluto and Eris are planets. Sorry, IAU! Actually, calling them "dwarf planets" just states they indeed are planets (such as the giant planets from Jupiter to Neptune).

Gas planets also have solid cores. But on gas planets you use the altitude at which air pressure is 1 atm, or 14.7 psi, the same as on Earth. I never wrote of a "surface" weight or gravity.

I was thinking if we could add in our weight on a neutron star as well.

I weighed around 57.5 kg on Earth here, so... on a neutron star?

8,050,000,000,000 kg.

Theoretically, its just a classification issued by the IAU to rank the celestial bodies.

The objectively "better" system is the only true one: Imperial units. The totalitarian metric units are an invention, they are artificial and shouldn't be used by science.

Science shouldn't use artificial things, like numbers, or words.

The only thing that is better in the imperial system is their March.

Wdym artificial? The imperial units were artificial too... used by feets that had different sizes. Meanwhile the metric is based on something definite.

And where, pray tell, did Imperial units come from if they weren't invented by humans? Aliens?

Those aren't artificial. As a matter of fact, some words are. But that is not unscientific.
