I don’t know what kind of fucked up world we’re in were you’re born a villain, and the only way to repent is to reject yourself and become a drone to the powers that be.
I think you're overselling it a bit.

Kids in Africa could've eaten those razors!
...Fuck I feel a bit bad saying that.

Kids in Africa might well have mined the metals and rare earth minerals used by the company, and plenty of folks probably suffered putting them together. It's why companies like this bearing a moral message is always a bit weird, regardless of whether you agree with the message.

It's also kinda funny that people who get so steamed up about the ad and stop buying their razors will most likely be buying another brand that's made by the same company.

Not sure if there is more up to date news regarding this. 'companies like this' is a bit vague when we actually know the company in question, and there has been at least some good news on that front (even if it were 12+ years ago)
So, come with a source, for the accusation

Overselling like positioning a shaving company as the moral compass for men in the west? Or not quite that absurd?
Overselling it like reading into the ad that Gillette is casting themselves as the authority figure that can tell you how to live correctly.West Leas Oros 2 wrote:I don’t think so. It’s not even proselytizing, IMO. The way I see it, it’s a diatribe on the villainy of men.

I wouldn’t be suprised if Gillette tried to play moral authority. Or at the very least, that they’re promoting the “#metoo” movement as the moral authority.
