Surely this has nothing to do with the shutdown. The TSA is totally right that there have been times where more people have called in sick and whatnot. It's not like the people who show up to work have lower standards or anything than otherwise because they are hardly getting paid. Totally unrelated coincidence.

TSA should go on strike.

It actually doesn't have anything to do with the shutdown. The TSA has failed repeatedly to detect contraband items. This has been going on since long before the shutdown.

The TSA is complete joke. It's a meaningless piece of security theater.

The way TSA is, you could probably smuggle in a full grown Giganotosaurus onto a plane with nobody noticing.

Give the TSA flamethowers and tanks and this wouldn't be a problem.

Actually I’m pretty sure it is unrelated. That happens all the time at the ATL airport, mainly because it’s legal to bring a gun into the non Secure areas of the airport.

I can’t tell you how many times people still have a gun when they go through security

It's not completely unrelated to Trump's shutdown. Trump's wall is meaningless security theater, too.
