It is true that younglings love carbonated lemonade, given their lust for sugar and more sugar. More or less functional adults, however, have a strong need for coffee to get them through the day.

I'll take my coffee almost anyway, but I especially like it with gallons of cream and sugar.

A taste that can take a while to acquire, but a worthwhile struggle indeed.

Just not before the morning commute, I am trying to repress that horrible memory.

But I'm working as the sole ranger at the beach. That's going to be a minimum of 300 people there throughout the day. And they're still expecting me to open all the trails, keep tabs on all the campers, check to make sure no one is drinking, and entrance collect fees. GAH!

I also have to a sit in a meeting tomorrow which is going to suck.

That's the plan, hopefully. Though the internet out there is spotty at best.

Apparently I'm expected to talk at the meeting tomorrow. Don't know what about, it just says at the bottom of the email proposal by Acting Lead Ranger Jennifer.

Since you're now literally going to be the Lone Ranger, you get to pick your own theme song, you know, like Hasselhoff has that Baywatch Opening. And it's true. Some people stand in the darkness and then Pamela Anderson runs by in slow mo.

What will be your theme song? What should the universe cue up as you stride alone into the wildnerness to face potential danger and people who want to pay the fees in weird denominations?

After much thought, and a serious look into myself, this is my theme song.

Both our lead rangers are sick, both the rangers who were supposed to work with me are sick, and everyone else is out of state or working maintenance Saturday. I'm going to hide in the entrance office mostly. Collect entry fees then let visitors fuck off to whatever they want to do. Maybe I can get lucky and grab a volunteer or two from the other beach site to help me, offer them some free lunches or something :p

That's fine. On campus, I spend most of my non-class time at the library, where there are public computers.
