I will never understand why Netflix doesn't use automatic subtitles. You either gotta leave them on for the whole movie to have the foreign parts translated, or you're hosed. It's a real pain in the dick.

I'm not learning a whole language just for small movie bits. If basic cable reruns and DVD's can provide them, I don't see why this fancy ass streaming service can't.

As a Belgian I've watched so many movies with subtitles I pay them no heed when there's no need. Just ignore them.

Not necessarily, no. Sandman is in that that format, but something like... Bone or Strangers in Paradise, have more overarching stories with specific events or arcs happening in each book, these sometimes get omnibuses but most of the time they don't due to how large the average length per book is. (Bone for example, has 150-200 pages per book and has 9 books in total)

Then there's manga which can go on for 1000's of pages and doesn't really care about when arcs are place or how they're complied, as that's the publisher and editors job to figure out, not the author's.

The Japanese and Korean scripts are actually pretty easy to learn (Hell, Korean was made to be easy to learn).

It's the Kanji they (Specifically Japanese) still for some reason keep around that's the hard part.

I bought a piece of Indian film music from Amazon, Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai, and when I downloaded it the file name said it was from 'Jism'. Turns out that it is from a Bollywood remake of Body Heat, and 'Jism' is the Hindi name of the film, in English it would be 'Body'. I'm guessing it isn't getting translated into English because it is way funnier calling it Jism.
