Users definitely refer to themselves in third person, sans pronoms. Ardrentt finds this weird.

Fucked if I know. I watched Sailor Moon and read comics as a kid but by the time I got into anime and manga I was in middle school and living in the states.Ardrentt wrote:...I mean it was closing soon, and stores usually advertise... though those are usually for food...

To put it bluntly I suppose, I don't regret my purchase. I do feel bad for the poor little girl behind the cash register, there she is ready to close up shop and here I come with a stack of books. And it's a used book store so she can't just quick scan the back of the books.
Also if you want to know, about 180 dollars...

Ah, yeah; that's definitely a lot to just luge onto someone at the end of their shift. ^^'
For what it's, not going away from anything with a bundle of regret's a good way to go about things, though I suppose especially so with large purchases.
Still can't see myself making such a massive haul, though; I think the last time I vaguely did that was mostly to pay for a ticket to enter a local convention and... that's about it. Probably the most notable thing I did was to just sit there and film an entire panel. Without a tripod.

For me it's the case that I save up money exactly for these sort of purchases. Though there always is a bit of hurt when handing over large amounts of money.

Obscure, but not too obscure. I applaud the person who wrote it if it is.

No, "all under heaven" is how the ancient Chinese referred to the world.

It's been a while since I last bought a graphic novel or two myself, even though they tend to be easier to find these days.

It's shorter than "paperback comic book" and therefore more efficient. The trick is to make a distinction between regular comic books, who tend to have less pages and are of the A4 format and the graphic novel, which usually has several dozen pages or more while also coming closer to the A5 format.

Shouldn't it also be about being a single, self-contained story? My Sandman volumes are in that format but they're just collections.

Many mangas tend to go on for thousands of pages, which commonly don't get bundled in one volume. Western comics tend to be more compact, but over here in Europe we also have the comic album as a format. Those are less common elsewhere, as far as I know.

Lots of western comics take plenty of volumes to collect, though.
