If you take Pax away for being a punster, you have to take Blaat. It's only fair.

Heh. Caesar's mother, Aurelia Cotta, was an acquaintance. I rented a flat in the apartment block she owned in the Suburra for a while, knew little Gaius since he was a pup. Gad, what a serious, serious child! But then, Aurelia was kind of like that, too, single-minded, knew what she wanted. That only intensified after her husband dropped dead putting on his shoes one morning. You know me, I like a joke, I like good food and good wine. Caesar wasn't interested in any of that. I saw him a few days before he was killed, actually, he gave a party for Cleopatra at the villa he owned on the far side of the Tiber. He seemed distracted, I thought. Cleopatra was her usual self, which is to say, self involved. Cicero called her arrogant, and she was, but it was a kind of natural arrogance, the kind that comes from being brought up to consider yourself the center of the world. I didn't really have time for her, nor she for me.

OMFG it's the warmest day of the year so far for me, it's in the 60s maybe even low 70s where I live. And it's not too cloudy either, fair bits of sun and warm weather for the Ides of March is a good day for me. :)
