Thanks to the miracles of fish farming though, the tub in my pantry cost 26€.
I'm a big fan of sushi roe, I wouldn't be surprised if there were people out there who thought caviar was worth it on the regular purely for the taste. Sea urchin is pretty gamey but I can definitely see people paying a premium for that, for instance.Heloin wrote:I love cheap wine and really wish I could buy cheap caviar.
Sushi roe; caviar is just fish eggs. Caviar just happens to have a much creamier mouthfeel.

Sea urchin is mandatory when I'm making bouillabaisse, though I would be very impressed at anybody who keeps a constant supply of them around.
Much like monkfish: get it when you want it - don't leave one in the freezer looking at you.

Unfortunately we're all forced to participate in whatever baroque humiliation kink the OP has going on instead.

Sea urchin, I remember the first time I had sea urchin, i was on a date with mrs mermania before she became mrs mermania and we decided to order it with our sushi dinner
it came in the shell we sucked it out and it was OK, for 5 bucks a shot, hardly worth it. Toro was 2 dollars for 2 pieces.
So se get back to my place, put on the TV, and it's a nature documentary on the califorina sea otter. And there is the little son of a bitch, drifting in the sea, lying on his back, eating a FUCKING SEA URCHIN. 10 dollars for fucking otter food.
Lovely

Lovely
That's what you get for half assing the date. Think of how impressed she would have been had you dived into the sea yourself, caught the urchins, then cracked it open on your stomach as you casually floated along like it was nothing.
