Everybody here is babbling about Babel (no, I'm not sorry) which isn't even the topic we are meant to discuss. I know it's poorly structured, but it's still comprehensible enough to see OP is just whining about how so many of us would rather stick our fingers in our ears and yodel all day long than dare even contemplate admitting that we've made a mistake or concede a point of view.

Usually when someone says "we people can't ever change our minds when confronted with a different view" they are including themselves in this too. A look through OP's post history shows they are also unwavering in their views, going as far as insulting those who disagree with him/her. Also, being unwavering in one's view doesn't make them pathetic.

Also, my mind has changed very fundamentally. I went from being a liberal American Democrat to being an Islamist.

In your travels of what I put, have you seen any instance where I should have changed my mind, or was I mostly right and that my interlocutor should have changed his or her mind?

As to insults. Who began them in my various conversations?

OP, I've seen a few of your threads and I'd like to make a recommendation: If your thread title is too long to completely fit, maybe come up with pithier titles cause unfinished thread titles look weird.

As for the Tower of Babel thing, it's just a fictional story and I don't think it really reflects on human nature at all, more so just that those who wrote it wanted to craft an allegory about not pissing off God.
