Yeah, I think that barring a shipload of Korans happening to sink right next to Atlantis as I mentioned, which is highly unlikely, I think that the Atlanteans will have never been exposed to Islam. It's even doubtful that they will have been exposed to any religion for that matter, except for religions that may have originated in Atlantis itself.

I'm looking at both the DC Wiki and Wikipedia, both are saying they were originally alien pilgrims. (Both New and Prime Earth sources)

However, there are multiple universes and timelines, maybe you're thinking of another one?

I posted this in a comic book forum to see what happens... and these replies might be of interest:

...If DC's Atlantis truly thought out an attack on the surface world (on our Earth, not some comic book Earth where superhumans live), their victory would be all but an inevitable conclusion. I'll explain: Just the idea of Aquaman using the Trident of Neptune maliciously would allow him the ability to flood entire nation states and submerge both coasts of the US and Canada (as an example) in a matter of moments. The carnage and civil unrest alone would be enough to keep National Guard and Red Cross-type organizations too busy too be involved in the actual warfare (and the Atlantean Army hasn't even surfaced to engage the land troops yet). Via telepathy, King Orin could forbid all of the world's leaders to NOT retaliate via nuclear strikes, thus taking their most potent weapon systems completely off the table. He could further turn the citizens the surface world into docile servants by weaponizing the citizens of Thierna Na Oge, an Atlantean City-State populated by powerful mystics in possession of even more powerful mystical artifacts as well as over 85% of the city's population being strong telepaths (as demonstrated during the Millennium Giants saga).

In the comic book universe(s), their success is an easy 50/50 shot considering how many differing superpowered beings of different power levels exist there to stand against them. But here, in the "real world", we would have no defense against magical weapons, the super-advanced technology of the Atlanteans, and certainly not the telepathic assault of more than 20,000 Class 2 (or slightly higher) level telepaths with bad intentions.

We'd be helpless and conquered in days. Those of us who don't get liquidated in the opening offensive, that is....

Because firing nuclear missiles at an unknown target somewhere in some ocean is viable strategy in what way?

The U.S. military, much less any other military, has been utterly unable to even notice Atlantean ship presence or movements at all.

Atlantis launches a major assault on Boston after a major naval vessel is capsized and none of the early warning systems of NORAD even notice.

All Atlantis needs to do is strike first and cause chaos that ends international trade. Obviously this isn't DC militaries... if you did I'd just say Wraith looks at the ocean and incinerates Atlantis, following up with black hole lasers erasing it from existence.

The militaries of the actual world are as glass cannon as it gets against forces that eliminate the usefulness of air superiority and/or naval superiority

I support the surface dwellers. Their "inferior technology" is so superior that even by using it while meaning no harm to Atlanteans they're already destroying Atlantis. Like this. Casually. Without even knowing it exists. While the Atlanteans cannot even protect themselves from a bit of pollution.
Just imagine what the surface dwellers could actually DO if they knew there were an enemy city bent on killing them all. Like, dunno, dropping five-hundred megaton-range nukes from orbit on Atlantis and turning the seafloor into trinitite.

Normally I'd be a bit annoyed that you're all trying to think of ways to destroy Atlantis instead of actually engaging with the choices presented (the scenario was obviously intended for you to be an Atlantean looking out for Atlantis/the planet as a whole... not for you to wipe out Atlantis and then continue to pollute until we are all dead in 2-3 decades).

But let's be real here... this scenario is inherently a bit too ridiculous

The former sounds like a tooth paste (Aquafresh anyone?). And Ocean Master? Is that a rock band? These characters are OLD and honestly, quite cheesy, and even in the names it shows. In 2019 there is no way someone would say, "hey let's make a new movie, 100% completely original... titled AQUA MAN (except that there's already such a comic)."
