And children?

I don't think that conversion therapy should be illegal for consenting adults, but I also think that it should be illegal to advertise it as a "cure" for or to "treat homosexuality. Any licensed psychologist or psychiatrist who provides it should lose their license.

Children do not have a choice in the matter.

That's why I said, "By their own free will." Adults can only legally consent to medical stuff like this and thus this should be banned for minors... but for fully grown, mentally capable, adults I see no reason why it should be banned.

And I believe all the bans have outlawed it specifically for children. If an adult wants to be defrauded that is their choice but conversion therapy is mostly practiced on children

I don't think that it needs special rules, it should be handled in precisely the same way as other quackery.

I see people say this on every conversion therapy thread but I don't think I've ever seen anyone say they want conversion therapy for consenting adults to be banned.

Which I feel should be the same, any relevant doctor who pushes said quackery should lose their license and it people should not be allowed to advertise it as a treatment or cure. If you note, not being allowed to call it a treatment or cure is exactly how things like homeopathy or supplements are treated.

Total agreement. I will note however that potentially dangerous and definitely ineffective alternative treatments are regularly given to children.

A lot of “Traditional Chinese Medicine” too.
Which is basically all quackery at best, and often outright dangerous.
