They say equal rights but what they really mean is institutionalized privilege not to be denied employment for any reason.

You can see this with how they applauded Uruguay reserving jobs specifically for homosexuals and transexuals. Literally instiutionalized bias if favor of anyone who is gay or transexual.

"Equal rights"

And now we know why there are still thriving and successful bigots, sexists and racists today. That law protects both sides you know. They may be forced to comply, but their hatred still exist, but instead of it leading to ruin, it's preserved by their compliance with the law.

So the law is making society worse by preventing bigots, sexists, and racists from successfully exercising their bigotry, sexism, and racism?

Depends what kind of employer it is. If it's a religious employer, it should be allowed to discriminate based on religious belief, which could include LGBT activity.

I mean more something like an explicitly Christian business not employing actively homosexual people. I could understand that. However, if the business isn't explicitly religious, they have no business discriminating on those grounds.

No, I say equal rights because - as I've championed throughout this thread - people cannot be discriminated against in hiring processes for other immutable features of their person: skin color, race, sex. People can even be protected from hiring discrimination solely based on their religion, which is something that can change with time. So why not another immutable feature: Sexual orientation?

I like that homophobes feel like their own rights are threatened and LGBT people are receiving some kind of "special treatment" when they get granted the same rights as heterosexual people.

It means they actively engage in homosexual relationships.
So members of the lgbt community choose not engage in said activities for a multitude of reasons

Ah, employers that want to have authority or say over aspects of their employee's lives that occur in their employee's private lives are a high level of creepy.

For something like clerical work, it actually is very important because there are organizational rules forbidding certain behaviors.

If they are actively homosexual they probably aren’t going to volunteer for religious work at a church that isn’t ok with them in the first place
