Feasibly, I don't see him expanding beyond his core base this time around. I feel that with Bernie, he has his unflappable and enthusiastic supporters, and a number of Democrats who respect him, but would be hesitant to support him in the primaries for a multitude of reasons.
I'm inclined to think that the latter group may support other candidates as first choices, whether they're progressives or centrists, before they opt for Bernie.
That said, I'd argue that if Bernie were to win the primaries, he'd have a fighting change in the general, so long as he sticks to his popular talking points (IE inequality reduction, affordable healthcare, fighting for the working class etc etc).

If we were somehow able to develop the technology to colonize space, it would be easier and more effective to use that technology to preserve the Earth. Therefore, if you want to colonize space, work hard on Earth problems and then they can be used to make space livable.

And then a giant space rock magically appears from outer space, yeets itself into the Earth and causes the entirety of humanity’s efforts to disappear in a split second.

Luckily, the Grand Canyon is only about 2/3s of the way through America. We're going all the way to the W E S T C O A S T

This is why we should all support Giant Meteor for president in 2020. It will end all of humanity's problems within the first few minutes of arriving at Earth.

There is no disputing it. It is happening. The media has done it. AOC gets a lot more attention than Pelosi.
How are they going to lose? It is too early to say that will happen....but the chips are in Trumps corner right now.
I have already gone into the reasons why AOC being the de facto party leader will help them lose. Socialism, New Green Deal, Anti-semitism (she is defending Omar), and I am sure AOC will provide more fodder in the upcoming months. These are going to be talked about many times between now and November 2020.
Socialism is popular, the Green New Deal is popular, and Ilhan Omar did nothing wrong.

I just want someone like Bernie to get their foot in the door ONCE and get that brand of leftism to be mainstream.
Then maybe we can diversify a little and force the Republicans to have a branch similar to Christian Democrat parties in Europe.
I'm tired of 'fucking over the working class' being one of the few bipartisan positions.

YES I AGREE OH MY GOD!
....I would be uncomfortable though being in a party with people who were pretty vitriolic, with a good deal of racists and bigots. Bigots as in, anti-muslim.
I'm a hardcore Christian but hardcore believer in religious liberty.

Y’know, the Republicans reforming into modern Christian Democrats would save their arse big time.

If Omar did nothing wrong, then why did the Democrats introduce the resolution?
