What a shocker, the United States of America, a nation whose white population (including Hispanic and Latino people) is almost 77%, would have a majority of their representatives being white.

Only thing that is surprising is the severe lack of women in politics despite being 50% of the human population.

Around 80% of the US is white. The Dems nominated a black president, so if we include this run, the last three have been 33% Black and 67% White.

Then it's on to men/women. To be sure, men are overrepresented there, 66 to 33, but having a woman there would overrepresent 66 to 33 as well, and it would do so "On the trot" rather than alternating man-woman-man-woman.

Statistically speaking, it's probably time for a white guy from the dems. Does it matter? No, policy matters, and that's why these three white men are leading the polls, because they have better policies. (Well, two of them. One is a meme.)

Minorities and women getting "represented" are going to be hamstrung by corporate dems up and deciding to artificially boost the profile of corporate democrat minorities and women and then berating people for not supporting their shitty policies on the grounds of demography. It's a tired trick that practically everybody is aware of at this point.

So practically speaking you've got white men who've been around for a while (Yes, perhaps by nature of being white men and historical privilege in this regard, though notably, one is Biden, VP to the black guy, and the other is Sanders, who lost to the white woman, which impacts that narrative a bit.) and so are household names, Beto Orourke, who is a meme because everybody hates Ted Cruz, and then a string of people who are actually the sort of individual we want to get rid of in the party (Corporatists) but who are being artificially boosted.

Difficult to get a genuine "I know, i'll run as a Representative of inner city black people because gosh darnit, they need one, and what's more, I'm a social democrat!" candidate on the ballot when all the "Black organizing" is being browbeaten into backing some corporate shill.

So when these people whine about minorities and women being represented properly, i think we should probably tell them to fuck off and let that happen from the grassroots rather than fucking it up for literally everyone, not just white guys.

The corporate dems are offering you the status quo in a new lick of paint by telling you its progress to have a woman or a minority enforcing the status quo. It is a superficial pitch to superficial people, and serves only to toxify debate.
