Still waiting for an answer from those who said the wall was practical and haven't yet responded to the numerous pitfalls I outlined which you'd need to overcome... Surely such a practical thing has numerous ways around it that you could have mentioned.

You called for a shutdown and clearly seem to support this one so obviously you think government workers are a drain on everyone

That strawman is equally ugly.

You are advocating for anarchy [The lack of a government]. Just about every situation of anarchy I have ever heard of lead to either the formation of a dictatorship from the power vacuum or a state where the worst instincts of humanity were the status quo due to the lack of any law and order. With no power structure in place to ensure order, human nature, much like the universe, tends toward entropy and chaos. With no society to guide humans in their interactions, the prevailing mindset becomes, "Fuck you, got mine!", and the majority will take whatever they can from whomever they can.

As to the Free Market argument, most people who argue that the government should be hands-off/dissolved tend to argue that the Free Market will regulate.

Someone got lost in a national park. "The heck with you, your on your own. Its your fault you got lost."

Ships might be brining in illegal things or someone might be trying to attack boats in New York Harbor. "Who needs the Coast Guard?

Roads need paving. "ill do myself." And so on so forth.

Somalia is a great example as your are advocating for anarchy plain and simple. You can deny it all you want.

Burn your house down. Then go tell me the fire department is a drain on you.

When you get mugged, go tell the cops you think they're a drain on you instead of using the service for which you pay them to try and get your wallet back.

Go tell air traffic control you're fine with planes crashing because they're a waste.

Go tell your local refuse collectors that you're fine with drowning in your own filth and trash because they're a complete drain on you.

Go tell the country's largest employer, the DOD that you're happy with the 30-odd percent unemployment that would be caused if you just got rid of them... See where this sort of silliness goes?

Maybe you Americans have this uniquely peculiar conceit that your government does nothing for you, but its never been true. It's your own unique national myth, but let's not pretend it's got any relevance to the reality of present situations.

Most Americans have no idea what their government spends money on, or what services they use from it, or how most of the costs get acquired, etc.

The equilibrium being the lowest common denominator of human nature. That being the descent into chaos where those we regard as scum now would be the ones in charge, as they would want the power and have the strength and ruthlessness to take it. It would be a society of thieves, rapists, fraudsters, and murderers.

Why do you see government workers as such a drain you want it completely shut down?

You do know the the DMV are government workers right as is the Coast Guard and the Secret Service? But none of them do important jobs right?
