You called for a shutdown and clearly seem to support this one so obviously you think government workers are a drain on everyone

And we all know the Free MarketTM will make sure everything is good and fair, because there certainly was never a point in time where people were getting cheated, killed, and stolen from left, right, and center due to no one keeping law and order. I mean, anarchy ALWAYS has good results, right?
That strawman is equally ugly.

They do, hence the problem. Clearly they do things.
They're a drain on me.

You are advocating for anarchy [The lack of a government]. Just about every situation of anarchy I have ever heard of lead to either the formation of a dictatorship from the power vacuum or a state where the worst instincts of humanity were the status quo due to the lack of any law and order. With no power structure in place to ensure order, human nature, much like the universe, tends toward entropy and chaos. With no society to guide humans in their interactions, the prevailing mindset becomes, "Fuck you, got mine!", and the majority will take whatever they can from whomever they can.
As to the Free Market argument, most people who argue that the government should be hands-off/dissolved tend to argue that the Free Market will regulate.

Somalia is a great example as your are advocating for anarchy plain and simple. You can deny it all you want.

I haven't denied it though, and have no desire to do so.

Indeed.
I mean, it'll reach some sort of equilibrium without government control...

The equilibrium being the lowest common denominator of human nature. That being the descent into chaos where those we regard as scum now would be the ones in charge, as they would want the power and have the strength and ruthlessness to take it. It would be a society of thieves, rapists, fraudsters, and murderers.
Laws aren't just written because some idiot somewhere just feels like it. While there are some laws that are stupid/frivolous, the vast majority are written to prevent the sorts of abuses that would be rampant otherwise. Want to know what anarchy is like? Go visit a schoolyard and keep an eye on the bullies. And then imagine they could do what they do with no reprisal whatsoever.
