The federal government legally can’t take said money, yes I know it’s strange and stupid but giving money to that go fund me page is a scam

Perhaps the Federal Government can give/sell Federal Government Property to the group that's behind that Go Fund Me page, and zone the area for wall construction; after this, the group can go ahead and build the wall. Once the wall is built, the Government can use the money it made on the sale of the land to buy back said land. There should be ways around legal barriers, if said barriers are silly.

The Great Wall of China didn’t. It failed pretty spectacularly. The only ones that did work where like the Berlin Wall and the Inner German Border Wall. And I don’t think you want to have a wall like that on the southern border

I must say I continue to find myself disappointed. I would have thought that you of all people would not fall into believing in fairy tales such as 'a wall will work' among other things.

The Great Wall of China didn't stop shit, the Berlin Wall leaked like a sieve and covered a MUCH SMALLER LINE, and I find myself hard pressed to think of any country that has so walled up an entire border to such a degree in any other fashion. Trump's aims would be better served by funding more personnel to get people through legally and go after lapsed visas than building a dumbfuck wall that will ALSO leak like a sieve.

How long do you want the wall to be built? Because eminent domain can be fought in court and 90% of the landowners have said they will fight it for however long it takes.

And the wall will have gates at said ports of entry.

Again, seems to me that expanding customs personnel to improve the rate at which people are granted legal visas and maybe to go after smugglers would be a more efficient expenditure of even the five billion. The wall wouldn't help people get in legally more quickly, even if it were to work against all odds.
