He collapsed under the pressure. He's now lost his only bargaining chip so negotiating the wall is going to be tough, if it shuts down again, it shouldn't be too hard to blame him again.

Exactly, he caved when it was looking like the Democrats might; there were reports that least 30 in the House were suggesting to Pelosi to give up on Wall funding. As stated, Ann Coulter was 100% right on this.

Or perhaps he himself believes the wall is an idiotic idea and never seriously wanted it in the first place - and was getting scared people.were actually going to do it
Would explain why he sofar has done nothing like planning, design and never made a problem about it not being in the budget until FOXnews whined.

That still doesn't explain what he was going to do with the455.77 billion dollars if he got it.
Oh... wait... he was going to pocket it or give it to shady contractors that would never actually finish it, wasn't he?

And by "shady contractors", you mean most likely LLCs he controls.

Good. Now, him and both parties can talk like big boys and explain why his wall would be useless.
3.5 Billion on upgrading border security but no wall. Sounds like a good compromise to anyone?
