I am trying to find a source confirming this but apparently due to Air Traffic Control staff shortages the FAA has closed La Guardia Airport in NYC. While this is a bad thing for many if this it what it takes to end the shutdown so be it.
And here is a source confirming it: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... c-staffing

RIP the worst airport in the world. I assume this is a very temporary death, but still, let's all have a moment of silence.

When asked for a comment, Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross said this isn't a big deal because transport of people and goods through La Guardia airport make up less than a hundred of a percent of our GDP. He went on to say that he also didn’t understand why people didn't simply just use their private jets until things are resolved.

I second it’s a terrible airport. I’ve been there. It’s still a big deal as it’s a very busy airport. Plus there are also delays at newarknand Philadelphia due to staff shortages
