That means making the powerful suffer along with those that they have left to suffer, and hitting their bottom line hard enough to get them to treat these workers properly in the future.

The needs of the working class are far too politicized these days, there is no unity, and no comradery. Unless a fundamental change occurs the working class will continue to be an infighting, fractured demographic, which spends more time fighting itself than it's natural enemies.

A general strike would bring unity.

Unity is not the effect of a general strike, a general strike is the effect of unity. A disjointed working class would never commit to a general strike in support of a political agenda half of them oppose.

Well I have news for you we have a interconnected economy and can't have myopic black and white viewpoint of the world

So fuck the workers? So we should just take it in the ass? So the workers should just suffer quietly?

It’s not black and white to say that someone who supports firing striking workers isn’t an ally of the workers

It helps those not getting payed thanks to the shutdown. A general strike would force Trump's hand into restarting the government with or with out his precious wall.

Or how about having food drives or helping federal workers pay their bills instead of shutting everything down

And? Then the powers that be haven’t learned shit. Living in constant fear of a shutdown isn’t a good thing. Hopefully a general strike will bring the rotten capitalist system crashing down

From there pov it isn't about a political agenda, it's about workers not getting payed.

They shouldn't stand for this nonsense and should go on strike.

No it isn't it's all about a political agenda. I have watched strikes literally evaporate over politics, people would rather scab than watch their strike be used for a disagreeable political agenda.

They evidently don't agree.

Because letting the workers own the means of production will definitely cause a depression.
