Eh, not all contractors are fighters though. I'll admit that when you do include contractors, it probably does reflect your number of 7,500.
I never claimed that every last one of them is a dedicated combat contractor. Uxupox, on the other hand, claimed that not a single one of them, private mercenary or government soldier, is actually fighting.
Regardless, a pullout, especially a reckless one originally proposed by Trump, would be disastrous. As much as I would like to end the endless wars, it does call for sometimes a somewhat permanent presence in some situations, especially since it can come back to bite us and threaten our national security (see ISIS).
Our endless warfare in Iraq is what created the breeding ground for ISIS.
Of course, it's going to take more than brute strength to win over there, and a sprinkling of our ideals through education, economic opportunities, and diplomacy will ensure that. It's a long term strategy that no one has fully attempted, likely due to people demanding short term results (I'm looking at you, America...)
Indeed. We will, of course, have to wait for diplomacy until after we get the buffoon out of office who would like to nuke Iran for existing.
