No one "bought into it."

I was about to comment that this thread seems to have wandered a bit.

They started it. Apparently people don't want to admit that the press is guilty of libel often but never prosecuted.

The standard for libel is quite high. For one thing it does not apply to public figures. For another it does not apply to jokes. F'rinstance whatever Kathy Griffin did with that blood running from the whatever photo, she did not commit libel. Next case.

I mean, uh... not to "derail" the thread or anything, but do republicans even know what treason is? A legal investigation of a criminal is not treason by American standards. That's like saying that if a police officer investigates someone who's been proven of multiple crimes but that person is waving around the national flag, it's treason.
