When he has to keep bailing out people? Or when he doesn't get a deal, although one with Mexico and Canada looks promising so, he can use that as "well, look, we got a deal!"

We dont get much in imports from those countries. Mexico and Canada should be retaliating with massive tariffs on our goods.

China will keep raising tariffs and eventually you crash the economy. They wont be hurt by it but we will

He can't use the money from Mexico that's paying for THE WALL either. BTW, what the fuck, Trump? You really suck at making deals. That WALL deal you said you'd make Mexico pay it.

I imagine the bigger problem will be that the 'aid' will go to corporate farms and smaller farms will suffer just enough to get bought. Tinfoil hat: It's all a ploy to strengthen corporate farming at the cost of smaller independent farmers.

I'm not saying that; I fully agree it's not winnable. What I am saying is that it will hurt the Chinese too. Quite honestly, it's going to hurt the entire global economy, which China and the US are a part of.

China will undoubtedly be hurt by it.
Possibly more so than the US.

Question is, will that change anything?
I'm guessing no. Purely because if American citizens get hurt hard enough, they'll vote for a different president.
China doesn't have that luxury, and it's not like the populace is suddenly going to be so fed up that they'll revolt and overthrow Xi Jinping anytime soon, so its leadership can keep this going a lot longer.
