Most ATC'ers are paid by through the states, or by private airports. ATC in this case would most certainly only mean federal ATC'ers on military bases.

Not quite. ATC is paid by the federal government not the states. ATC on military bases is shockingly military ATC and not civilian.

Air Traffic Controllers being one of the most actively unionized jobtitles, I would expect a strike if they really weren't getting paid. This hasn't seemed to happen.

During a shutdown they aren’t paid, they keep working because we always back pay them. And I’m guessing you don’t know about the ATC strike in the 80s?

PANY&NJ Operates everything but ATC. ATC is run by the FAA and is paid by them not the states. https://www.faa.gov/jobs/career_fields/ ... n_careers/

How are they going to do that?

The coasts guards job is to keep trade flowing. They patrol the waters, break ice, and make sure waterways are open. They could just stop doing all of that.

Well it would get the government’s attention and there would be a lot of pressure from companies to end the shutdown

Trump shows why he's the best president yet again: He flies to Iraq to tell the troops that they will have a pay raise of more than 10 percent. If that isn't showing respect and admiration for the troops, what is?

Trump authorized pay raise amounting to 2.6 percent

Every time i think he can sink no lower he does.

I am beginning to have serious doubts he finishes his term especially if Democrats in Congress get his tax returns. There is obviously something in there he's trying to hind hence why he refuses to release them

Good luck with that and what a stupid thing for him to say. I can't believe anyone in the military supports him.

His support in the military was way lower than support for Mattis, so now that Mattis is gone, I wouldn't be shocked if his support in the military is dropping because people are pissed.

I wouldn’t call ATC non-essential.

And yes even essential government employees like the TSA, ATC, Coast Gaurd, and others do not get paid during a shutdown. They hope that they will get backpay.

Are they part of the 25% of the government not yet funded or the 75% that has already been funded?

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, but his claim is pants on fire inaccurate as military pay has been increased every year since 1983 (Which didn't increase because of a glitch), and even in your post, which again I can't tell if you're being sarcastic because I don't know you, he doesn't even fucking change it b 10% so he breaks that claim anyway by only increasing it by 2.6%. So if you ARE claiming he is the best seriously, that's an interesting thing to claim he is the best at when he can't even follow through with his comments.

I'm wary of the source in this case, given not much is known nor have I have heard much about it. However, if this is true, then it's a big bombshell on Trump. But I'll wait for what Mueller has to say, if Trump allows it to come out that is...

Wasn't there a whole court case involving the outing a CiA agent by the name of Valerie Plame during the Bush years? This sounds very similar.

That was a vindictive act meant to attack a political opponent, this was a bumbling moron who doesn't listen to anyone doing something fucking stupid without realizing it.
