Even assuming for the moment that Telconi is being honest, that's not really relevant, because Trumps position is very much not that North Koreas nukes/missile testing is no problem, he's made a big deal about how he's totally going to stop it with his super amazing negotiation skills and tough leadership.

And then in response to North Korea blatantly carrying on with weapon testing after his last two half-assed photo ops, his response was , "Yeah, yeah, whatever, but did you see how he called Joe Biden the same names I do? WE'RE TOTALLY BFF'S!!!"
