No. Trumps wrong here. But it is amusing to see those who actively call for the deplatforming of their ideological opponents, get upset over being the target of calls for deplatforming. It's almost like we've been warning the left of that this whole time, and they still haven't figured it out yet.

There is a pretty hefty difference between what private citizens do and a representative of the current President does.

Agreed, but he's doing what they want him/the government to do, they just wanted it to happen to their opponents, not them.

Of course of course. It's okay when they call for it it's okay, because they're right. Their ideological opponents should be deplatformed. Yes. Yes.

Actually, taking a closer look at the memo, you're right it is a false equivalency. What the college kids did is worse, they actually got people deplatformed, while all the memo really does is ask the news stations to challenge the listed people on their claims in light of the mueller report.

Not in this case. The memo doesn't do much of anything at all.

They're so comically unrelated it's kind of an astounding thing to watch the gymnastics involved in trying to make it fit. This is the result of people working that 'bothsame' muscle like it was a profession.

Indeed.

It is wildly inappropriate for aa sitting President to even ask that media outlets censor themselves, ,let alone release a memo more or less demanding this.

Comparing this to what private citizens say and do is just hogwash and not even remotely in the same arena.

So you can't understand the relation ship between people calling for government censorship of political opposition, then getting mad when the government actually does that to them?

Regular blokes asking for censorship and the sitting President asking for censorship are two completely different things. The former have no authority in thr matter. The latter exerts a significant amount of authority by nature of his position.

This isn't a case of Conservative vs. Liberal double standards. This is a case of it being eildly inappropriate for a sitting politician, let alone the President, to do.

Just like how Kirby Delauter thought Kirby Delauter could stop news printers from publishing Kirby Delauter's name. But I guess for some reason this is different from Kirby Delauter's stupid case because it's Donald Trump.
