The special counsel’s office learned about Trump’s directive for Cohen to lie to Congress through interviews with multiple witnesses from the Trump Organization and internal company emails, text messages, and a cache of other documents. Cohen then acknowledged those instructions during his interviews with that office.

This revelation is not the first evidence to suggest the president may have attempted to obstruct the FBI and special counsel investigations into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.

But Cohen's testimony marks a significant new frontier: It is the first known example of Trump explicitly telling a subordinate to lie directly about his own dealings with Russia.

Oh shit. If this is true, and they can prove it, this is a big deal. This could be solid grounds for a case on obstruction of justice.

While I do question the integrity and bias of Buzzfeed, this has been reported by other sources. It should be made clear though that we shouldn't jump to conclusions until Mueller and Congress wraps this up, although it's not looking good for some members of Trump's Campaign, and that includes Trump. But I'll wait until I hear more as well.

Realistically, he'll never be impeached. As I understand it, impeachment would require a Dem house (which could definitely happen) and every Dem senator (possible) and at least 19 republican senators (which is never going to happen). Trump could show up to the state of the union drunk, slap every member of congress in the face, stumble out of the building and attack toddlers on the streets of DC by throwing empty cans at their faces and, at most, you'd get about 6 republican senators willing to convict him. I genuinely believe the rest (and Fox news) would argue he deserves sympathy because Pelosi drove him to drink.

There's been no evidence that enough republican politicians are willing to hold him account for anything for impeachment to be a possibility. They simply lack a strong enough conscience.

While his base is unwavering in support for the Wall, and a majority of Republicans as well, there is a not insignificant numbers who are not married to the idea. I would say they are the 15 or so percent who say they are disatisfied with the President, amd perhaps another 10 percent who are generally happy with certain policies but aren't married to certain specifics, like the wall.

I do agree. However, I think if there's impeachable (and damning offences) and the GOP does nothing, then I can guarantee they'll lose the Senate, especially for Republicans that didn't go through with it. Even then, the people would simply vote him out and the next President would likely prosecute him.
