I was asked for examples and it seems like Ostro is okay with using Reddit as a source.

I could have quoted /r/MGTOW, but I like my Reddit experience to be cancer-free.

The quirk with liking socially awkward shy guys is that they don't tend to really actively approach people unless they consider it necessary, but they are usually quite talkative once you befriend 'em (like me).

A matter of initiative, I suppose!

well, I did introduce him to his current boyfriend... they have been going steady for about 3 years.

Anyway like I said earlier I need a bit more to learn how much of this is simply that humans like flattery and the such. If it is simply a human trait then no duh feminists would be equally susceptible.

I was often labelled as "gay" (I am bisexual, but certainly not homosexual) for merely being introverted and either not being particularly dominant when conversing with women, or not really conversing with women at all when I did not see a valid reason to talk to 'em.

Women have this bizarre tendency of labelling any men who isn't some overly dominant initiator "gay".

That's because most women a fed this idea early on that men always and only want sex and nothing else, or if they do want something else then it must be miniscule by comparison.

So if you're not acting overly dominant in attempts to get their attention for sexy times or you deny sex, then you must obviously be gay.

Yeah, this is Nice Girl behavior, they're like Nice Guys, but they're not guys.

That's been changing a lot around my area lately, or at least I think it has, but it's definitely still tough for socially awkward men.

Not sure why, but I have a thing for socially awkward shy guys.

After Contrapoints' video on incels, I saw a lot of women comment on the particular issue of how the straight women who prefer more delicate, less conventionally masculine and even submissive men don't really get a lot of visibility. So some of the men who come to think of themselves as incels because they don't fit the Chad archetype actually are missing out on women who would absolutely be attracted to them. The problem isn't that they are actually impossible to love, but that they are looking in the wrong places and the "dating market" isn't helping.

It's a human thing.

Even as children you want to be treated as a big adult but at the same time don't want to have the burdens/responsibilities or give up the perks of being a kid.

Men, women, it's all the same.

I think there's a difference between not showing interest and actually breaking up.. and let's face it both genders don't always take a break up very well.

Having said that I've never had a bad break up, I've joked to friends that the one thing I'm really good at is breaking up with people.
