Reminder that fatherlessness is not merely a family issue but a societal one as Gallos earlier thread pointed out studies for. Children are heavily influenced by their peers, and negative effects of fatherlessness of one child can be offset by being involved in a community where it isn't the norm and having peers with fathers, so the negative effects associated with fatherlessness tend to correlate with fatherlessness being a norm in an area. In addition to that, high rates of fatherlessness in an area dull the impact of families which do have fathers.

Those negative effects include but are not limited to lower empathy, lower social intelligence, and more anti-social behavior among both boys and girls. (One of the reasons it tends to persist over generations once it's broken.)

For the Black community this problem is two-fold, you've got the racism shit incarcerating black fathers, and you've got the normalization of single motherhood due to anti-male attitudes and practices and the persistent devaluation of fatherhood.

This problem is compounded by a lack of male influence in schools and so on.

A black 9-year-old girl in Alabama allegedly took her own life after facing relentless bullying and racism in class, according to reports.

McKenzie Adams’ relatives said she hanged herself Dec. 3 in her home in Linden, about 100 miles west of Montgomery, and was discovered by her grandmother, according to the Tuscaloosa News.

Since the start of the school year, the fourth-grader had been the target of bullying at US Jones Elementary School, where she was teased over her friendship with a white male classmate, according to her family.

Her aunt, Eddwina Harris, said the group of students taunted McKenzie by telling her to commit suicide.

“She was being bullied the entire school year, with words such as ‘kill yourself,’ ‘you think you’re white because you ride with that white boy,’ ‘you ugly,’ ‘black bitch,’ ‘just die,’” Harris told the newspaper.

Harris said she’s speaking out about her niece’s death because she wants to promote anti-bullying.

“There are so many voiceless kids,” Harris said. “God is opening great doors for justice for my niece.”

Truly a terrible incident. A child not even ten years of age being driven to suicide for having a white friend is heartbreaking. This brings to light an interesting problem: how much of a problem is anti-white racism in minority communities? Clearly if a young girl was bullied to the point of suicide over it then it is an issue that needs to be addressed. If we are to live in this diverse utopia then we need to be able to coexist.

Ethel M kindly posted the demographic breakdown of the school at 56% black and 44% white - although I remember 2% Asian and 2% other but I'm on a phone so don't feel like tabbing to check but should be roughly right - so there's not too much to suggest this wasn't essentially just plain bullying with a racist tinge as the angle to it either way. Guessing it's a double screw-over, shitty parental environment with an equally shitty school that lets them largely get away with it, letting the kids sanction the rules on 'snitching' and the likes. Seen too much of that for one life.

I think not, but when other kids of the same race as this little girl bully her to the point that she commits suicide just because she's hanging out with a white friend, then its a terrible, and serious problem.

It seems to me like maybe you simply didn't understand what he was saying. I believe he was referring to the bullies and not the girl. In fact, it's obvious that's what he meant. You'd need to have read the whole thing, of course, but it's obvious. Funny enough, this is the problem with not actually reading all of what someone said. So, maybe don't arbitrarily assume someone's meaning when they're actually telling you what they mean.
