The IRA did not seek to establish a Catholic State in Ireland, but an Irish State across the island.

Westboro showed up in my town when the PC(USA) ratified marriage as “unique commitment between two people, traditionally a man and a woman," changing it from restricted to only men and women couples. They showed up because the town has our east coast conference center, they stood outside the gate and burned some American flags, really showed us.

I was actually thinking of the Baptists. I don't consider Westboro a church, but a cult. I'm ambivalent about it though because one of its members has an amazing voice.

I don't know anything about Singapore or churches there but a Google showed the Presbyterian Church of Singapore is a member of the Presbyterian World Mission, which is the PC(USA) mission arm to the world. So maybe they're LGBT friendly, dunno if they have a website you can explore for yourself or not.

That doesn't mean Islam is any less compatible with European values then Christianity.

Never commented on compatibility, but considering Islam is really the main religion you hear this stuff about, there has to be some root cause, whether it may be religious text or other teachings down the line

I mean, just look at the countries with a Muslim majority, most of them are undemocratic oligarchies, or in some cases, theocracies (of course, some outliers exist, such as Bangladesh or Indonesia, but these nations have a sizable religious minority, which does a job of keeping things from getting too extreme in a way)

I mean, I am PC(USA) so my own church loves me and I know they do, that's in no way a reflection of all Presbyterians, thinking EPC, PCA, and ugh, ECO. Though for that last one, I don't trust anything about a denomination that can't use acronyms properly.

Then continue bearing in mind that Christianity as a local community and a global community has mixed thoughts on the matter.

I'm not so well versed in the trillions of American Christian churches in existence. I only know of the mainstream Presbyterian Church in America.

Anyway, our existence in Europe, and the existence of minorities in the Muslim world, would be so much easier if there was a PC denomination in Islam.

ECO is the newest one, The Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians, somehow ECO because they don't know how acronyms work. They broke off from the PCUSA because of our decision on same sex marriage. The EPC and PCA broke off from us back in the 1980s because we decided women could be ordained ministers.
