How many far-right pagan attacks have there been in Europe in the last decades? Obviously we can't know with absolute certainty, but based on the information currently available to us and prior experience it is sensible to say that an Islamist is the most likely culprit.

Now that I looked at the graph further, there is still a recent spike, which is concerning, even though there were decades where it was much higher.

That "spike" was the result of the Paris terror attacks on the 13th of November that killed 130 people. If you look at the graph closely, many of the big surges in recent years were years of big attacks (Madrid Atocha in 2004, 7/7 in 2005, Breivik in 2011).

Should of course be noted of course that the high terrorism levels from the '60's through to '98 can largely be attributed to the fact that Northern Ireland was in a state of borderline civil war that bled all over the British Isles. A pretty exceptional circumstance, and also highly localized. Probably not reflective of the norm on the continent.
