It does not mention racism for sure.

Plus Jesus is clearly strongly against judging people based on ethnicity.

Hitler actually hated Christianity despite being raised Christian as Christianity clearly contradicts Nazism.

Because contrary to the assertion of the poster I was replying to, its a Biblical passage that explicitly endorses racism. Jesus initially rejects the Canaanite woman's request for healing on the basis that he is called only to help the "sons of Israel", then compares her to a dog and the Jews to children when he says "it is not fair to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs".

I'm just tired of hearing Christians claim that their Biblical text doesn't endorse racism. It clearly does, and this is just one example.

The point is the opposite. It was a test, and also to show the disciples who said to ignore her that she had more faith than they did. Which is in keeping with other passenges like the one from Luke.

But we have completely veered off topic.

Comparing an entire ethnic group to dogs is a very funny kind of test. I dare you to go up to a random ethnic minority on the street whom you do not know, compare them to dogs and then say "hahahaha sorry, was just testing you, hey Jesus did the same thing, its cool right?"

See how they react. Tell me how it goes.

But again what does this really have to do with the topic? Should be in the Christian thread.

I did not. Some Nazi came on here starting with God hates black people (ignoring that Hitler and the high level Nazis hated Christianity).

I kind of supported ICE back in like 2010, but under Trump ICE has exploded with controversy and human rights abuses. We need to go beyond investigations and start rounding up ICE agents and bringing them before a judge. And dont give them a court summon. Deal with them like how we would deal with your averag violent gang member and kick their door in at 3 AM, shoot tear gas inside and drag them each out of their home in handcuffs to a waiting SWAT van. Send them all away

Most ICE officers are just normal working and middle class people. Collectively punishing everyone because a few are bad is just wrong. Also what you are saying is blatantly illegal.

Plus try to find any police that would do what you are proposing. You would have a coup.

No, just be reasonable, hold the bad ones accountable and increase oversight by placing it under CBP. This was a mistake and those responsible need to be held accountable, but does not demand an extreme response.

I meant the ones responsible for this crap, not just any old random ICE agent. I personally think they need to liquidate the whole organization and restart it because of how many bad apples there are in there, including the leadership itself. this isnt a quick fix

Certainly hold the ones who were responsible for it.
But it is not nearly as bad as you are making it out to be. Given the size of the organization you are going to have some bad people.

And placing it under CBP would mean new leadership, more accountablity and less redundancy.
And there is no quick fix sure, but you can make it better, even by just removing a few.

Most of the big problems are not ICE itself, but rather the private prison companies that do work it should be doing.

Privatizing prisons has simply not gone well. I generally think most things should be in private hands. But not police and prisons.

They've done things like this before. One of my friends was born in the US, her parents were born in the US, and her grandparents became citizens and they tried to deport her anyway because of a mistake with her name. ICE shouldn't even exist.

That's a good start, but that's not enough. This agency's bad apples wouldn't be so brazen without the carefully cultivated atmosphere of xenophobia the Trump administration has let bloom. The larger assumptions around migrants frankly need to change, back from "THEY'RE GONNA KILL US ALL AHHHHHHHHHHH--" to "Well, they may be weird, but most are hardworking peaceable people. Some are assholes; let's make sure the assholes are taken care of."

Once you've moved from "Migrants? Just like everyone else" to "Migrants will kill us all!" it's extremely, extremely hard to turn back.

That something would be to legally remove Trump before 2020. Given that he sets the tone for American xenophobia, given that there is no one else who has the same level of credibility (and power to exploit said credibility) as him, getting rid of him within constitutional parameters would be a good start.

It's also impossible. Besides, he's not the only one. A lot of Americans believe that immigration is a bad thing.

And who inspires them to think that? Trump, who brings it up at every opportunity.

As for the possibility of Trump's lawful removal -- I'm inclined to despair myself regarding that, but then I'm not American. The situation can very easily fall down a reactionary abyss. But give it the old college try anyway -- if there's the slightest chance of Trump ending up like Nixon in his last days -- shunned by the public, scorned by politicians, left alone on a desolate White House the better to yo-yo his way to the chopper -- exploit it to the full.

You will not make headway while his voice still rings the airwaves.

Nothing, in a vacuum, assuming close supervision and adequate facilities. But this ain't no vacuum, nor is deportation just penal transport.
