To follow up on what I said, a good chunk of the deities associated with the winter solstice are in fact female. Including, but not limited to Alcyone, Ameratasu, Bona Dea, Cailleach Bheur, Demeter, Frau Holle and Frigga, among others.

Considering all the different backgrounds for Christmas(Even my Jewish friends family celebrates it), y'all can do with Santa what you want. put him in full BDSM gear for all I care, but do not try to push that on my kids. it's one thing to say that santa is whatever you want him to be, but to tell someone he is a certain way is way over the line the way I view it. for my children and I, hes a fat old white dude cause thats what my familial traditions say he is.

This is a valid point if we are talking about Yuletide festivities however Santa is part of the Christian understanding of Christmas; Santa meaning Saint. Saint Nicholas ought to be a a jolly fat bearded man.

If I had to have an opinion, I'd say that its probably best Santa stays a white guy. Only because that is the image most people have of him.

It really doesn't matter how Santa looks. He's usually a fat old white guy, but it can be different. The more important issue is that he's breaking and entering.
