It’s my last name in real life with “-ia” at the end. It only took me like four years to come up with an in character explanation for it.

Back when I didn't like Trump, I named my nation Trumptonium as the next unstable element of the periodic table.

Today when I like Trump, it brilliantly represents a strong nation led by a man who can write his name in all capitals and still underexaggerate his greatness.

I suspect that there is an historical root to the myth of Pope Joan, a female power in a male theocratic universe.

Her legend arises around the time that Gregory or his cohorts invented the requirement of priestly celibacy and barred women from the priesthood (how convenient, if so? See?)

The Church of Rome, along with its many atrocities, has done considerable good in the world, and would do far more if it ordained capable women to the priesthood and elevated them to the Curiate.

I would start with Joan Chittister. https://www.joanchittister.org/

Several variations of "Decepticons" were already taken. I thought, "what word would nobody associate with Decepticons based on the official canon?"

The word that came to mind was Victorious.

It worked - and that changed the entire planned RP canon of this nation to make it infinitely better and more interesting than it could have been otherwise.

As much as I'd love to believe there could have been such a figure in the Church's early history, the legend of Pope Joan is just that, a legend. The only contentious connection I could find to it is the instances in history in which some women have crossdressed and passed as monks. That explains it! I'd been wondering what the meaning of your name was, if anything, for over six years!

This nation's name comes from being the Halloween entry in my holiday-themed series of puppets created in early 2014. I created one a week and covered Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. December Land, my Christmas puppet, ceased to exist with only 198 million people initially due to having forgotten my password for it, but this past September I finally remembered said password and managed to bring it back from four years among the dead. (I have a couple of 2012 puppets I could revive if I wanted to, too.)

Migdal Bavel means 'Tower of Babel' in... Hebrew, I think?
Pretty simple.
I like the tower. It represents human ambition, the idea that if we work together we can create wonders that rival those of God himself.
I mean sure, it collapsed and humanity was shattered into nations, but only because God saw it as a threat.
It's taken as a symbol of hubris, but... It would have worked.

A Christian being a fan of something that God struck down might sound weird, but I'm a philosopher, our philosophy is always bizarre.

Argule came from the word "argyle", while Monteverdeo was inspired by Montenegro, the European country. Compound country names sounded interesting (like Saint Kitts and Nevis, São Tomé and Príncipe, etc.) and thus, Argule and Monteverdeo was born created!
ARGULE AND MONTEVERDEO

"Humans just lead short, boring, insignificant lives, so they make up stories to feel like they're a part of something bigger. They want to blame all the world's problems on some single enemy they can fight, instead of a complex network of interrelated forces beyond anyone's control."
