The situation is so critical that they want to use the État Urgence, a sort-of lighter Martial Law, basically more policemen, more security and more surveillance. Last time they did this it was after the Charlie Hebdo's attack if I remember it right.

And then one day you look in the mirror and you realize that you ain't you anymore. You're just another monster, and thanks to your actions, someone else will eventually become as warped and twisted as you. Never forget that the best of us are just the best of a bad lot. Being at the top of a pile of feces doesn't make you anything but shit like the rest. Never forget that.

That simple and concrete enough for you?Kaggeceria wrote:Cool. Instead of dying from capitalist businesses we can die from commie businesses.

I'd've figured at least somebody here who's been talking to leftists for 2+ years would know what the hell they're talking about whenever they make a reference to Communism, but apparently not.
Also, news flash, hun: Communists wouldn't perpetuate this disastrous consumer culture like Capitalism does.

A communist society wouldn't be post-scarcity. You would still feel the hunger for resources, friendo. You can't escape it. We don't have the technology for post-scarcity yet. This isn't Star Trek.

A Communist society, however, wouldn't produce to the point of extreme waste. In fact, it's pretty damn reasonable to argue that a Communist society wouldn't be producing hyper-cheap, easily replaceable goods, either, in favor of producing much smaller quantities of quality products instead. :^3

lol
Why, though? Why not produce cheap, easily-replaceable goods? What incentive would they have to do not do that?

Probably the main reason would be that there's no fucking need for it? It's way better in the long-term to have effective, long-lasting, quality items, first and foremost, and secondly the lack of a profit motive because, y'know, Communism, would mean there's no reason to produce cheap consumer goods that'd maximize profits because more items are being sold as replacements.

Other than conserving valuable resources?
You see, friendo, you're still ignoring the problem of resource scarcity which communism doesn't actually have a solution for.

It has a good solution to reduce the pains of it, which is to produce quality, long-lasting stuff that doesn't need to be replaced frequently instead of this consumerist bullshit, and it has a good solution to end it which is, of course, seizing the means of space resource production. :3
