I must firmly disagree.
I’m a fervent opponent to religiously-guided governments and the Middle East is - Pardon the bluntness - a cesspit of religious extremism, superstition and tyranny. I believe it is in the interests of humanity as a whole to see the secularisation of the Middle East, North Africa and other backwards regions.

The proper and full installation of secular democratic states is in the interest of future Middle Eastern generations, as well. The people can vote for candidates they choose, and that helps nation-states adjust to changing times and circumstances. It makes countries more able to adapt and react in a hopefully positive manner. Secular governments also are largely free from religious dogma and fanaticism seen in the Middle East and other Islamic-dominated regions. It is only when fanatics gain control in a democracy does it become a problem.
