now, NSG, I'd like to request some advice from all you gays that frequent here. I'm bi, and I've never done anything with another guy, something that I'd like to remedy. I have no experience in flirting/initiating dates with other guys, so any pointers would be very well appreciated.

It would depend on how 'out' you can be in the situation.

... explain?

Does this guy know you're bi?
Do you know if he's gay or bi?
If not, you have to be more subtle.

Stagger up to her, grab a hold of to the bar counter and hang on for dear life like a sailor weathering a storm to keep my balance while closing one eye to keep from seeing double, and yell as loud as I can into her ear in an effort to drown out the music: "schxuseme can i 'ave your phhone nhumber?"

If you do know, the standard advice given here works.
If not, you have to be more subtle. Assuming you meet him in a public place, look at who he's looking at. If his attention seems to be momentarily caught by men more often than women, he's almost certainly gay.
I suppose if you're not afraid of his reaction, you could ask him directly, but in general that's something to avoid.
