Why is it so hard to get help for mental health issues? How many times have we "dropped the ball" when we could have prevented disaster. I think we will find in the comong days this was about insurance again. His last notes pretty much scream that. Why the reluctance to cover mental health issues? I think the AG should go after the insurance company if that is found to be the case. Your "Not Medically Necessary" patient here just shot up a bunch of people, care to comment on why you thought it was not necessary?

It's not just California it's the country in general. The mother of the Sandyhook killer tried to report her son and it went no where.

The country doesn't like to admit there are problems in this area. Let's not forget the abuse by companies, communities and the government that most likely would happen if people had access to such information about people.

As I've come to learn it's not really that hard, there's just so much cultural stigma around it that nobody seeks it out.

We have an active thread on the recent California shooting, we certainly don't need two more, especially copies of each other. Ask your question in that thread. If you want to discuss mental health in the US in general, start a thread on that.
