If there is a god or gods, I would seem to have a vanishingly small chance of picking the correct one. Given the extraordinary odds that anything I'd chose would not be heresy it seems better not to play until I receive some direct advice. They should be quite aware of this and can hardly hold it against me.

Of course, facts aren't the only thing keeping me in Islam. There's also an emotional factor to it I can't really explain in English. Hell, I'm not sure I can even explain it in Indonesian.
like Prophet Muhammad riding a pegasus to visit both Hell and Heaven

You're aware it's just a legend like the thousands of legends existing in thousands of civilizations all around history and geography, right ? And there isn't the slightest shred of evidence that it actually happened more than any other of those legends, from the Sepa Inca being born from the Sun, to the tale of Promotheus or Fenrir eating the right of hand of Tyr ?

Yea, no. The Quran is 100% factual because it comes directly from God, although the physical words are written by humans (dicatition). I do think some, if not many legends are real though, and I know the ones from Jogja have a semblance of truth in them (teleporting swords, anyone?)

While the Christian world-view isn't in conflict with reason, faith can't arise from reasoning and natural knowledge alone but requires divine revelation, additionally. Still, the more I read the Bible, the more I can see how much sense it makes.

That's a circular proof, and therefore is invalid. You just can't say the Quran is true because the Quran says it comes from God. Or I could just do the same and proclaim myself God.

Pretty much this
The bible comes from God, the Hindu Texts come from Vishnu, Confucianism was made by a real physical person that we can see and feel (if he was still alive), and The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster was inspired by his noodly appendages

Maybe I'll just declare myself God.
