Just because she is up in age doesn't mean she's incapable of doing her job. Noam Chomsky is at the door of 90 and his mind is still sharper than that of most 20 year olds.

If she even could. The government "cracked down" so hard on opioids that even terminal cancer patients are made to suffer in pain these days. Opioids are serious drugs and shouldn't be given out like candy, but the response to the opioid crisis is so severe that IMO it amounts to violation of human rights.
