Obviously, if she can no longer perform her Supreme Court duties, the President would pick another new justice. And conservatives would have an even larger majority than they have now. I think they might use that majority to overturn laws they don't like, such as allowing states to decriminalize marijuana, decrease or eliminate services to the general public, and perhaps even declare 'all your rights are belong to us'.

I'm reasonably confident she could hold out for the next year or so, given the circumstances if she retires or, forbid, die.

She should retire after 2020 regardless of outcome, I think. I doubt she'll willingly leave before then.

As a proud conservative Republican I favor gun rights, but I favor background checks and keeping guns away from mentally ill persons and criminals, but any person can snap and commit a crime with any kind of weapon, including myself.
