You can get pictures of that thing anywhere tho. You won't find Battery Park Squirrel #89 just anywhere.

Honestly? Nationstates is pretty high on that list - roleplaying an imaginary country and going into the levels of depth that I go into to build it, and the characters within, is a pretty strange way to spend my time.

I was that tourist a few weeks ago. We don't have squirrels where I come from and I'd never seen one before, so I went kind of apeshit - whereas I've seen hundreds of pictures of the Statue of Liberty and actually found it really disappointing when I saw it in person.

Sometimes i like to go on Microsoft Publisher or paint and create a map, a flag, a football squad, etc.

I also have like 11 Lego Speed Champion cars on my shelf.
Specifically that set type.

Here's one of those football squad things i was talking about:

Other than spending way too much time trying to write creative things on this site, I guess I like comic strips and learning random things about... well, pretty much everything.

I am the definition of a serial hobbyist.

Since idk where to draw the line between "normal" and "strange," I'm just gonna list them all (and this may not even be a complete list). Sadly I haven't been able to pursue my hobbies as seriously as I'd like because of my classes. I'll pick back up when I'm out for winter break.

Current hobbies:
Playing video games
Reading (fiction, science news, fiction news, weird news, Wikipedia articles on a number of topics both well-known and obscure, etc.)
Vexillology
Astronomy
Writing
Thimble-collecting
Watching chemistry videos on YouTube
Drone-piloting
Bird watching
Card tricks
Worldbuilding and character creating for all those fiction stories I want to write but never get around to
Drawing
Bicycling
Photography

Past hobbies:
Yo-yo tricks
Scrapbooking
Chemistry (wish I could pursue this one again; I think my parents are worried I'll blow up the house)
Making crappy stop motion films with Legos
Making crappy movies with my friends
Dismantling pens and pencils and collecting their parts
Trying to invent things (wish I could also pursue this one again; sadly I lack the resources so I'm stuck just drawing the schematics)
Piano
Rock-collecting
Marble-collecting
Cross-stitching
Crocheting
Numismatics

Umm... Hmm, that's a good one. Well, if I had to pick three that stuck out, they would have to be...

1. Pacing around and giving speeches to invisible audiences.

2. Photomanipulation of fantasy art, some of which is featured in my NS factbook.

3. Commissioning furry art. Several at a time, even.

Playing real/computerized board games by myself for hours until there is a winner; I control all the players and run this 1 player role play; sometimes I change strategy/play style for a particular player based on how “they” would think (for instance “Mikami” would be more risk adverse and calculated then “Light” as a Risk player).

I collect computer viruses. Not just anything that does something bad to the computer that might be misnamed a virus, but I mean file and boot sector infectors, worms, and anything else that once executed can recursively spread with little to no intervention from the user. I currently keep them on my smartwatch in directories for category (virus, worm, other) and platform they run on (Win32, Linux, MSWord Macro, etc.). Since it's Android, it makes it easy to open up one I'm interested in in a decent hex editor app and I like thinking that billions of dollars in damage rests on my wrist.

I first became interested in viruses when I was 8 back during the hysteria about Michelangelo, which was surely going to destroy all the computers on the 6th of March. My father gave me the newspaper and said "this is why you never bring a disk from school". I read what I could understand and I was actually determined to catch it, since it seemed like a digital version of one of the nasty bugs I'd catch in the backyard. I never got Michelangelo then, but 10 years later, I got the "Outlaws of the Wild West" CD which contained nearly every virus from up to about the end of the 90s, along with a wealth of information on them and even how to make your own (never done this, not sure if I'll try, I just collect for the moment). VX Heaven (sadly offline now) helped me with the rest.
Wait an hour, and it will be now again
