Well first, as Conservative Morality pointed out, most Democrats do actually support limits to abortion, and more importantly support policies aimed at preventing unwanted pregnancies like sex education and contraception, and at making carrying the child to term a more viable option via support for medical, financial, education and food assistance for struggling families. Meanwhile yes, Republicans want to ban abortion! While all of their other policies on those issues are designed to create more unwanted pregnancies and make abortion a far more attractive option for struggling women/couples/families.
But in any case, the problem with that entire line of thinking is that, well, it is an article of Christian dogma that we live in a fallen, sinful world. Meaning there will always be some bad thing out there, some justification or reason for compromising your faith in the name of the 'greater good'. And if there is always a reason a to compromise your values here, always an excuse to look the other way while supporting a morally bankrupt person or cause there...then what's the point?
The problem is our current political landscape regards poor mothers and poor families as a voting point, rather than as actual people who need help and support. The poor whites who voted for Trump after the election got berated and scoffed by every media outlet, got called uneducated buffoons, etc. And yet we probably will not hear about them again until 2020. Meanwhile, as Christians we have to look especially hard for politicians to support, in a political landscape that mostly either does lip-service to our faith and its teachings or that disregards us outright. I personally don’t know who I will vote for yet, and voting is tomorrow. I am quite anxious about who to pick. At the same time, however, voting pro-life is important to me, as it is to many of us, because life from conception to natural death is important to us as a core part of our Christian faith. Of course, for many of us this includes caring for the poor and loving our neighbor as ourselves.

It does, however, look like turnout will be fantastic for midterm standards.

Of course. For all we know, it could be a combination of fired up Democrats and fired up Trump Republicans. I consider it more than likely that both bases are as fired up as they have been in a while rn. It's just a matter of who the Independents are going to go for in tight races.

I got 55 percent of democratic views and 55 percent Republican. I agreed with repubs on social issues mostly, but dems on the things that really matter: healthcare, economy, taxes (on the rich and businesses), and welfare.

For me, the US two-party system is a bit irrational. It increases polarization and bars people from having more nuanced views. The alt-right republicans should get their own party, the moderates on both sides also should have their own parties, same with Occupy Democrats. And the libertarians
