No they wouldn't. At large districts would violate the Voting Rights Act.

Second state police are a thing

Technically no weed laws can be enforced because federal trumps state laws.

In Georgia the counties and large cities have home rule. Which means that they can pass laws that contrindicate state law to an extent. Such as marijuana enforcement.

In Atlanta the APD will not arrest you for possession however the state police theoretically could. I say theoretically because the state police aren’t involved in actual enforcement and are just highway patrol.

It’s exactly the same. The city of Atlanta has different drug laws than the county of Gwinnett. That’s different sets of laws.

Another example is the sales taxes. Which can differ from county to county based on SPLOST taxes or MARTA taxes. Or how about this, only five metro Atlanta counties can join MARTA. The rest of the counties in Georgia can’t.

That’s not possible in the first place though.

The last point could be if you if had this insane idea some are proposing of separate governments for urban and rural or having things like marriage be up to the county.

The easiest thing to solve the urban/rural split is to allow home rule in the counties. Instead of lording over them. Not certain things wouldn’t be allowed to be decided by home rule like constitutional rights

What fraud? There has never been a study done that proves that happens on a significant scale. That is just something Republicans scream when they lose.

Yeah how dare someone serve multiple terms and develop seniority and experience and eventually get a committee chair. If you dont like whose in office vote them out. Obviously the people of Jeffries district like him enough to have reelected him to other term.

You have a strange definition of wonderful.

Also by using Proportional representation the parties would choose who the representatives are. The people vote for the parties and the representatives represent that party

Whats wrong with any of those people?

Republicans would never agree to that because it would mean they would never get the majority in many states or in Congress very often.

Guys, just make it Federal law that you need a SSN to register to vote (if you leave your SSN blank in Cali, they give you a voted ID #, which should be banned), and replace signatures with finger prints you provide when you register.

Idk the first two but there's a ton wrong with Ocasio-Cortez, and it's not even her policy positions. She just represents an increasing dumbing down of our society and politics and that's worrisome.

I am fairly certain you need to give your SSN when you register to vote at least in New York you do.

I dont see how. She was duly elected in a free and fair election. I think its great that she says things the average person feels such as calling out the obscene rents in major cities like Washington DC.

She's shockingly uneducated and has no place in Congress. Sure you can hold it up as a cool thing that someone like that can win it doesn't mean it's a good thing she actually did.

The democrats wouldn’t be for it either. Because they would lose power as well.

For example if you had 45 Democrats, 44 Republicans, 7 Libertarians, 3 Greens, and 1 Constitution in Congress then the Republicans-Libertarians-Constitution Coalition would have 54 and the majority.
