Only a few, mine is one of them. Most will close around 7-8pm, with some going until 10pm, I think.

Different state laws, county laws, yadda yadda, etc.

I'm just going by what other countries put on their ID cards. In practice though you are completely correct.

Found the article I saw this morning, which has a helpful map of poll closing times. They'll be going until 11pm for the continental US, then Alaska closes partly at midnight and partly at 1am.
