John Deere makes a significant amount of revenue from the sale of branded merchandise lol. There are John Deere fan clubs.

I'm not very knowledgeable on companies

if you ask me right now, "name 5 companies that make casual T shirts as one of their main selling points" I would literally have to think about it very very hard while others could immediately throw out 10 names...

I'd be like... so... ... ... ... NIKE? Maybe they KIND of make casual T shirts on top of shoes? MAYBE? Not really sure.

Should I not wear a John Deere hat because I don’t work for the company or have never bought any of their products?

I would say No in a qualified sense, in the sense that I personally wouldn't have a problem with it since I personally have no preconceived notions about "John Deere." I had no idea it was a company of any kind until today.

Now that I know, I'm still not all that concerned because it doesn't come across as very prestigious. Its not like "Harvard" or "NASA."

I have lived in Canada, but I'm not in the business of buying tractors you know? So why would I know what John Deere is?

In fact... how do you know?

are you involved in the tractor business?

It’s a name synonymous with tractors. If you asked the average person to name a company that makes them they would likely say John Deere. It’s synonymous with tractors like Apple is to computers or Sony or Samsung is to electronics

I know about Apple, Sony and Samsung but not about John Deere.

I find that very hard to believe as they are one of the largest and most well known tractor abnd agricultural equipment companies in the world. My grandfather had a John Deere rideon lawnmower.

Why should I not wear a John Deere or Harvard cap?

People wear college apparel a lot of the time to support a college sports team. I'm from Louisiana. People wear LSU apparel all the time, especially during football season. Nothing wrong with it at all.

It’s unbelievable that I don’t know what John Deere or Massey Ferguson are without googling or being told? ... Because I’m no farmer?

Then let me ask you Lumen (and no Googling or looking up or asking)

“Staedtler”

“Strathmore”

What do they make?

I generally don’t assume that people would advertise other people’s stuff for free unless they have a personal direct/indirect connection

If I were advertising, I’d demand payment
