It also barely hits Earth temperatures. On occasion it will hit 65 degrees or so but its usually quite cold. I could go on and on. Terraforming or a colony on Mars is decades away. So how about we stop being so selfish and not screw up this beautiful planet?

Then stop letting people starve to death and let us build some more farms so people can eat.

Yes you very much did.

Therefore we should cut down the Amazon to build those farms?

I mean, setting aside the fact that most of the Amazon has shitty soil anyways- the idea that obliterating the natural environment is going to feed more people in the long run is fucking retarded.

Sorry for late response. This is tragic, but Haddad stood no chance of winning anyway. A party infested with corruption, so Brazilians have to resort to "strong-men" to get things done.

Also, let's not forget the fact that we already produce more than enough food to be feeding everyone already. The simple fact of the matter is that the practices of Capitalism make this unprofitable and, thus, people die of hunger.

Sure, but strongman politics is no guarantee against corruption. It's often the opposite, actually.

If Lula had been allowed to run and not convicted in a biased trial we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Amazon mostly has shit soil, the kind of farming they'd do there (probably raising cows) is like the least efficient way to possibly feed the world's starving masses, the carbon and other greenhouse gases that would be released would be unimaginably bad for a world already choking on them, perhaps the single greatest store of biodiversity in the world would be wiped out (AKA no nifty pharmaceuticals or useful science for us from all those species, discovered and undiscovered), then you consider the massive erosion and shifts in rainfall patterns- you'd probably be starving more people than you'd be feeding, quite frankly.

Anyways, the reason people want to bulldoze the Amazon is mostly for timber, or to build plantations or grazing land for cows. None of which really fits into your supposed feed-the-world schtick (if you were really into that, you'd be pushing stuff to, say, discourage meat consumption, increase foreign aid to build up agriculture in Africa and the developing world, develop new technologies to reduce water use and new GMO crops capable of withstanding harsh conditions, et cetera).

Brazil needs this man, and the fact that he got stabbed just proves him right. Learn how to not violate the NAP you commies, otherwise you people could go a few decades without creating rightwing martyrs.
