So basically the will and needs of the people are less important than the environment. Sure let people die in streets and let crime and corruption rise, who cares if it descends into anarchy and chaos, as long as they don't pick and choose a right winger because I don't agree with their policies. Proof you don't care about people unless they agree with you or democracy unless it's your side who wins.

Yeah screw the planet.

I never said to let people die in the street.

If Bolsonaro's administration actually manages to reduce crime and corruption without bulldozing the Mata Atlântica or converting the Brazilian Amazon into a cattle feedlot, I guess we aren't completely fucked. Let's hope this guy's more of a Duterte than a Trump.

Question?
Ok so while you don't support him as your choice, how sure are you that he wont become a dictator of the Right like the dictators of the left I posted about Fidel, Raúl, Diaz-Canel of Cuba and the eternal Revolution, Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela and the Eternal Revolution of Venezuela, Daniel Orteaga of Nicaragua again, and now it looks like Evo of Bolivia wants to join his 5 closest Amigos, see Rio Cana's thread.

I posted the Poll to encougage discussion of issue of the Datafolha Poll:
Brazilians concerns of a new military dictatorship even a majoriy of them said they would vote for him?

Human needs won't mean anything if we all fucking die in the biggest ecological disaster of this Earth's history.

The Amazon rainforest produces something like 20% of all the Earth's oxygen, so any fucking deregulation that comes of this bullshit - combined with the continuing acidification of the oceans - is gonna kill us at the end of the day if we don't do anything.

Frankly, let's hope that some miraculous event occurs and he's unable to take office, since the Duterte option means tens of thousands of murders and the Trump option means massacring the planet and neither option does shit about problems like rampant corruption and political gridlock.

We're a long ways away from anything remotely resembling a sustainable, self-sufficient colony on Mars.

Probably too long away to get to it before we die here.

You're talking about people dying in the street from crime- and neglecting the potential for the whole fucking street to be underwater in a couple decades, or baking at 120 degrees Fahrenheit and 90% humidity, so that everyone in it would die.

Really? We should just cut down those forest as they are annoyance? Who cares if we pollute the air and water. Only money and my comforts matter. Screw the birds and fish. Long term thinking is a good thing and something you might try sometime.

Mars has a very thin atmosphere, no oxygen and is a barren desert. All the water is locked in the polar icecaps. Every Martian winter dust storms grow to cover the entire planet. It also barely hits Earth temperatures. On occasion it will hit 65 degrees Fahrenheit or so but its usually quite cold. I could go on and on. Terraforming or a colony on Mars is decades away. So how about we stop being so selfish and not screw up this beautiful planet?

I mean, the needs of the environment don't really vary, regardless of whatever bullshit interpretations people want to make up. Science is real and can tell us things about the world, and right now it's telling us not only that we're fucked, but that we're fucking ourselves even harder at this very moment.
