The winner is former Army Captain and President elect Jair Bolsonaro Far Right Conservative Social Liberal Party of Brasil
And retired General and Vice President elect Antonio Hamilton Mourão.

39.24 % of all eligible voters voting voted for Far Right Jair Bolsonaro and Antonio Hamilton Mourão, of the Conservative Social Liberal Party of Brazil. and 31.93 % of all eligible voters voted for Fernando Haddad of the Far Left Workers party of Brazil and Manuela Mourão, by 10 756 941 votes and a small margin of 7.31 % of all eligible voters voting.

The official election results are a lot closer than they seem if you calculated by total eligible voters voting, discuss how close it was in terms of all eligible voters voting, if all eligible voters had voted would it have changed the election results?

I think Jair Bolsonaro would have received about the same support or perhaps even more if the 21.30 % who abstained would have voted.

Discuss who are or what are the 21.30 % who abstained, the poor, the working class or the middle class, that did not care or bothered to vote, why do think they did not bother to vote?

I think most of the ones who abstained were the working class that felt it did not matter who won and did not fear either candidate

I think most of the posts on this thread have been about how bad either candidate is or might be for democracy in Brazil, if they would have established an eternal military dictatorship of the right, or an eternal dictatorship of the left, and which one is worse.

So now discuss which candidate you think is better for the Brazilian economy and society in general, discuss their different economic and social policies, immigration polices and foreign policies towards the EU, Canada, the Hispanic nations and other nations, would Fernando Haddad have been a better President on the economy and social issues than Jair Bolsonaro.

in the other side of the isle you got a guy who is a political stooge, fucked up education so bad during his term as minister of that department, his corruption is absolutely horrendous that would make puerto rican politicians green with jealous, is actually a figurehead between lula and dilma interestingly enough. the brazilian elections were absolute trash and if the people are given trash candidates then trash candidates will win.

So....you're pledging to vote for the guy who explicitly wants to make Brazil's already high murder rate even worse? He's literally pledged to murder 30,000 people, which would raise the homicide rate by 50%, even without counting all the hate crimes he's inspiring his followers to commit. If you want a safe, crime-free Brazil, vote for Haddad. He will try to actually reduce homicides, not increase them.
