American Division

With the most recent controversy in the US, I have once again grimaced at the growing resentment among Americans. The nation’s people have been in an ever growing political division, and will throw blame for cause of division every chance there is. I firmly believe that the US needs a huge political reform before something severe such as civil war occurs. However, and sadly, I don’t believe there will ever be a president who will actually notice that division is skyrocketing. Therefore, change is doubtful. We can only hope that Americans can come together and be peaceful, instead of bitter and hate-filled.

So my question for anyone reading is this:

Is there any way in which the US can heal itself, along with its society?

Notice? You really think the president doesn't notice when his own people turn against each other? Are you really that naive?

The president notices, he just doesn't give a shit. The Democrats notice, the Republicans notice. They. Don't. Give. A. Shit. The division is intentional. They WANT Americans to be divided so that we won't join together, oust all the shills (e.g., themselves) out of office, and fix our terribly corrupt and broken system. And it's working. Propaganda and misinformation from both sides have driven a wedge between the American populace to the point that many of us can't help but wince at the thought of working with The Other Party™.

At this point I don't believe anything can change that. The 'US vs THEM' mentality has been so deeply ingrained in our anti-intellectual society that I really don't think anything could possibly change that. This is Party Politics in it's purest form: nation-shattering cancer.

The only way America can be healed is if somehow, my generation can learn to be generally decent human beings even with people who have different views, though that's also unlikely.
